COMING EVENTS
All our events are free, but we strongly recommend booking when available, not only does it mean you are guaranteed a place, but it helps us order the right amount of refreshments (when available).
We supply gloves, bags and buckets etc for beach cleans, then sort, log and take the litter collected to Creed Park, recycling what we can. Come along and help us make a difference.

Beach Clean on Wednesday 17th September from 10:00 am at Ramadal (Swordale) Beach, 4 miles east of Stornoway
In association with Hitachi, this little gem of a beach - sandy at low tide and popular with wild swimmers, hasn't been tackled by CCOH for over a year.
There is easy access but have stout footwear as the shingle can be pretty robust!
What3Words ///washing.husband.growth
This is part of the Great British Beach Clean of the Marine Conservation Society, and we will be recording details the litter we find, whether from land or sea. We need your help!

Four miles east of Stornoway, take the A866 past the airport, over the Braighe and about a quarter of a mile on the right, you'll see signs to the beach "Claddach na Ceardaich" Follow these to beside the sea, avoiding the potholes, and park up thoughtfully.

We'll be there with gloves, grabbers, bags etc. You will need to sign in, so that you are covered by the insurance, then listen to a safety briefing.

We need volunteers for all sorts of roles, not all of them on the beach; we need help with handing out kit, sorting, logging and weighing what is collected etc.

Of the materials collected, we recycle what we can but sadly most of it goes to the landfill, but we are campaigning to change this. Join us to help make this happen!

Beach Clean on Saturday 20th September from 10:00am at Bayble Beach, Isle of Lewis
In association with the Western Isles Health Branch of UNISON, the public service union, we intend holding a beach clean on this beautiful and popular location. Again there is plenty of parking and easy access. CCOH hasn't held a beach clean there in years.
We hope to have Rodeo, the lovely pack donkey that lives in Bayble with us.

Beach Clean in Association with the Hebridean International Film Festival
Date and location to be confirmed, but likely to be on Saturday 27th September at the north side of the Braighe.
